At Demo Day, Fellows present five-minute project pitches and submit their research. Judges evaluate submissions based on a rubric measuring progress made, potential impact, and presentation quality.

Summer ’26 Special Awards


In addition to the Research Scholars awarded and supported by Non-Trivial, further awards for exceptional Fellowship projects are made available by trusted organizational partners doing frontier work in high-impact fields. These awards include research publication and translation support and career mentorship, prizes of up to $1,500, and public recognition and validation that Fellows can leverage for future university and professional applications. Our 2026 winners were:

- BlueDot Award to YuHan ChenHe for Biosecurity Middleware: Self-Degrading High-Risk Proteins
- Cambridge Biosecurity Hub Award to Anand Swaroop for Bias from Population Incompleteness in Epidemic Inference
- 80,000 Hours Awards to Kaeyura Puram for Yes/No to How Much: Designing a Quantitative Dengue NS1 Test, Reid Kawaja for Testing Consciousness Indicators in Language Models, and Yuliia Tertyshnyk for Evaluating Pre-Intervention Diagnostics for Steering
